The virtual awards ceremony, which took place on August 11, 2020 and was organized by the MedCruise Association, offered hope to all its participants in the recovery of the industry by awarding the companies, organizations and individuals who work tirelessly to lead the cruise industry towards a competitive future.
The 2020 MedCruise Awards encompass several categories, judged by different panels of cruise industry experts, with some awards based on jury members' opinions. The awards ceremony began with speeches from MedCruise's leading partners, President Airam Díaz and Director of Partnerships and Events, Nicky Guerrero. The award winners were then announced, followed by statements from representatives of the winning companies. Due to the circumstances, an in-person event was not possible, nor could entertainment activities take place, with the exception of a virtual musical performance by Spanish artist Della Du.
