Holland America Line has canceled its entire 2020 season in Europe, Alaska, and Canada/New England. In addition, the Amsterdam will not sail the 79-day Grand Africa Voyage cruise from Boston to Fort Lauderdale, scheduled to depart on October 3.
“As we continue to navigate these challenging and unprecedented times, the best decision right now is to extend our pause on cruises through the fall,” said Orlando Ashford, president of Holland America Line.
“Although this is very frustrating and we never want to leave our customers behind, as soon as it makes sense we will resume cruising, giving our guests the memorable travel experiences they continue to dream about.”.
All guests, or their travel agents, will be automatically notified if their cruise has been cancelled.
Passengers will automatically receive a Future Cruise Voucher
The affected cruises will be cancelled immediately, and all passengers will receive a credit for a future cruise as follows:
- Fully paid booking: Those with a fully paid booking will receive a future cruise voucher worth 125% of the base fare paid.
- Incomplete Reservation: Those with reservations not fully paid will receive a future cruise voucher worth double the amount paid. The minimum future cruise voucher will be $100, and the maximum will be up to the cruise fare.
The vouchers will be valid for 12 months from their date of issue and can be used to book cruises until December 31, 2022.

Passengers who prefer a refund can fill out the Cancellation Preferences form to indicate their preferences until June 15.
