Costa Cruises supports doctors and nurses in the Liguria region in the fight against the COVID-19 emergency

Costa Cruises supports doctors and nurses in the Liguria region in the fight against the COVID-19 emergencyCosta Cruises will contribute to the fight against the Coronavirus by donating medical supplies to San Paolo Hospital in Savona and San Martino Hospital in Genoa, according to authorities in the Liguria Region. The donation will include 40,000 face masks, 5,000 gloves, 1,000 protective kits, 100 pairs of protective goggles, and 200 high-protection hospital suits.

The company, like the rest of the industry, decided to halt operations and continues working on the repatriation of all its passengers and crew who were at sea.

Neil Palomba, President of Costa Cruises:
The company is working with commitment and determination, under the coordination of Civil Protection and local and regional authorities, with the sole priority of bringing its guests and crews home as soon as possible.

“Costa Crociere has worked tirelessly in recent days to repatriate more than 25,000 guests and some of its crew members, a tremendous organizational effort that continues unabated even now, operating within an extremely complex international context due to the travel restrictions imposed by many countries and the severely limited number of flights. We do not want to place any burden on the territories where our ships call, but rather to support them during these difficult times,” Palomba concluded.
