In her new role, Rossella Carrara will oversee communications, sustainability, and public affairs activities for the Costa Cruises brand in Europe, reporting directly to President Neil Palomba. Among her responsibilities, Rossella will coordinate strategic communications across the group alongside Michael Thamm, CEO of Costa Group and Carnival Asia, and lead the Costa Cruises Foundation, a key area for the company's reputation and for demonstrating Costa's commitment to the community.

Rossella brings a wealth of experience to our management team,” said Michael Thamm, CEO of Costa Group and Carnival Asia.  “As our company grows and leads the industry in Europe and Asia, we need to increase our brand visibility in the markets where we operate and communicate the pioneering initiatives Costa has developed while strengthening our partnerships with key partners. I am confident that Rossella will help us achieve these goals.”

Rossella Carrara has over 20 years of experience as a strategic consultant, supporting major multinational companies across diverse sectors, including maritime, technology, retail, consumer goods, tourism, and healthcare. Prior to joining Costa, Carrara was Deputy Managing Director of APCO Worldwide in Italy, leading public affairs, stakeholder engagement, corporate responsibility, and communications activities, both nationally and internationally. Before APCO, she was a Senior Director at Burson Marsteller, specializing in crisis communications.

Throughout her career, Rossella Carrara has acquired extensive knowledge of the Costa brand and the cruise industry, thanks to her close relationship with the company over the past 15 years, working on various communications and public affairs projects. She has also had the opportunity to collaborate with several Costa partner companies, such as Fincantieri, San Giorgio del Porto, and Chantier Naval de Marseille, as well as with industry associations like CLIA and Confitarma.
