For the first time ever, travelers have embarked on a round-the-world cruise across all seven continents. Silver Whisper set sail on Legends of Cruising 2020 on January 6, departing from Fort Lauderdale for Amsterdam, where guests will arrive on May 25 after circumnavigating the globe, visiting 62 destinations in 32 countries, including a three-day stopover on the Antarctic Peninsula.
AN EXCLUSIVE BON VOYAGE
A variety of exclusive events, curated by the company’s team of destination experts, will enrich the pioneering 140-day voyage for guests. Many Silversea executives attended a “Bon Voyage” event on January 5, including the cruise line’s president and CEO, Roberto Martinoli, along with cruise guests. Held at The Breakers, a luxury resort in Palm Beach, the “Bon Voyage” reception allowed cruisers to socialize and share their excitement for the upcoming journey.

A COCKTAIL FOR EVERY PLACE IN THE WORLD
Among the variety of enhancements planned for Legends of Cruising World Cruise 2020 is a groundbreaking new cocktail program that will immerse guests in the destinations they've sailed to through regional drinks and local ingredients, as well as the fascinating stories behind each one. A preview of Silversea's new SALT program, which will debut with the launch of Silver Moon in August 2020, the new cocktail offering will feature 62 creations that evoke a sense of place, inspired by the distinctive characteristics of each region visited. Guests will enjoy cocktail masterclasses, learning to mix their own drinks. They will also receive a gift box containing a recipe book and the stories behind each and every cocktail featured.
A BETTER EXPERIENCE
To enhance the guest experience, Silversea has unveiled a collection of 33 new and exclusive shore excursions for 2020: the World Cruise Collection. Travelers can embark on a musical and culinary journey in San Juan hosted by an acclaimed artist; attend a private performance by a world-renowned folk ballet company in Salvador; delve into Polynesian culture with a celebrated anthropologist in Moorea; savor a four-course lunch prepared by a celebrity chef in Singapore; enjoy a candlelit dinner under the stars in the Red Sea desert; marvel at Caravaggio's masterpieces in the churches and museums of Rome; and tour the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh with the last admiral, among other exclusive experiences.
In addition, for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise, guests will benefit from Zodiac activities, overseen by the industry-leading Expedition Team, allowing them to satisfy their curiosity under expert guidance. On the Antarctic Peninsula, for example, members of the Silversea Expedition Team will lead Zodiac tours where guests can admire penguins, seals, and other animals in their natural habitat, as well as massive icebergs.
