The Silver Shadow, Silversea's latest ship to undergo extensive refurbishment, has emerged from dry dock with redesigned interiors and a sleek new two-tone look, a first for Silversea. Another first for the company is the installation of decorative crystal artwork by the renowned Lalique brand in the Silver Shadow , enhancing the dining experience for guests.
“Silversea has evolved in recent times, and we felt the need to reflect this evolution in the image of the Silver Shadow,” says José Vuolo, Silversea’s Global Creative Director. “Elegant, understated, and instantly recognizable, the Silver Shadow echoes the character of our company, emphasizing the destination and our guests’ experiences. Complementing the ship’s interior refurbishment, which exudes luxury, the new exterior design sets Silversea apart within the ultra-luxury segment. The Silver Shadow will look equally sophisticated whether anchored off a remote Caribbean island or in the port of a historic European city, as its new image has been designed to create a harmonious blend between the ship and the destination.”
In addition to the ship's sleek new look, guests aboard the Silver Shadow will enjoy the following improvements in the latest refurbishment:
- Suites: With guest comfort in mind, all suites have been completely renovated. Carpets, furniture, and fixtures have been restored throughout, and the bathrooms have also been remodeled. The suites' stylish new color scheme is influenced by the successful design of the Silver Muse. Guest hallways have also been enhanced with new carpeting and suite doors.
- Lalique's handcrafted panels enhance the La Dame restaurant. The décor of La Dame has been enhanced with handcrafted Lalique panels for the enjoyment of guests. Furthermore, in response to the restaurant's overwhelming popularity, La Dame on Deck 7 has been expanded and now seats 40 diners, meaning that all guests will have the opportunity to sample its sumptuous cuisine at least once during their voyage.
- New Atrium. A new Atrium area has been created on Deck 5, featuring open-plan boutiques and an inviting Arts Café with a central bar and original furnishings. The Atrium also includes an updated Guest Services area with an interactive counter and a new personalized cruise sales office.
- Connoisseur's Corner. Relocated from Deck 7 to Deck 8, the Connoisseur's Corner has been completely renovated and a new outdoor area has been created, meaning guests can enjoy fine drinks and cigars indoors or outdoors. Plush seating has created a sophisticated area of optimal comfort where guests can relax while admiring the views.
- Casino. The Casino has been relocated from Deck 5 to Deck 8, and now boasts a new design with updated decor.
- Additional improvements to public spaces. Many other public spaces at Silver Shadow have undergone extensive renovations, including: La Terrazza, The Restaurant, Panorama Lounge, Zagara Beauty Spa & Fitness Center, the Observation Library, The Bar, The Show Lounge, Card/Conference Room, the pool area and running track, and all public restrooms. New outdoor furniture has been added to the pool deck, suite balconies, La Terrazza, and the Panorama Lounge.
Among the first Silver Shadow following its 2019 refurbishment, guests enjoyed an exclusive cruise organized by Mark Conroy, Managing Director of the Americas, and Peter Shanks, Managing Director of the UK, Ireland, Middle East, and Africa. From December 10 to 19, Silversea guests traveled between San Juan and Fort Lauderdale, enjoying a series of tailor-made events in the company of Conroy and Shanks.
