Costa Cruises will begin selling tickets today for its first cruises aboard its upcoming flagship, the Costa Toscana, which are now available for booking online and through travel agencies. Just weeks after the highly praised debut of the Costa Smeralda, the Italian company has made it possible for customers to book a vacation aboard its sister ship, the Costa Toscana.
The ship is being built at the Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland, and, like the Costa Smeralda, represents a unique project in the sector, combining responsible innovation with product innovation, having been designed to sail with a reduced environmental impact. Both ships are powered by liquefied natural gas, the cleanest fossil fuel in the world, and will offer a unique vacation experience, maintaining Italian hospitality as a fundamental and distinctive element.
The Costa Toscana's inaugural itinerary will depart from Hamburg on June 28, 2021, and return to Savona after a 14-day voyage. The cruise will include extended two-day, one-night stops in Lisbon, Barcelona, and Marseille—three of Europe's most beautiful coastal cities. Throughout the summer of 2021 and through the first week of November, the Costa Toscana will offer week-long cruises to discover the culture, art, and beaches of the Western Mediterranean. The itinerary will include Savona (Saturday), Naples (Monday), Cagliari (Tuesday), a day at sea, Palma (Thursday), Barcelona (Friday), and Marseille (Saturday)*. From mid-November 2021 until Easter 2022 (inclusive), the cruise will continue with the same duration (one week), but will change to include two of Italy's most iconic art cities: Savona (Saturday), Marseille (Sunday), Barcelona (Monday), Palma (Tuesday), a day at sea, Palermo (Thursday), and Civitavecchia/Rome (Friday). In addition, the company has also scheduled a special 9-day New Year's Eve 2022 cruise that will include Valencia among the cities visited.
Costa Cruises has also announced other new offerings for 2020. In fact, the Costa Victoria will extend its summer season and operate four new cruises, which are now available for booking. Between September 9 and October 12, 2020, the ship will depart from Savona, offering 11-day getaways to discover nine coastal cities in the Western Mediterranean: Toulon (France), Tarragona, Ibiza, Palma, Menorca, Ajaccio (Corsica, France), Olbia (Sardinia, Italy), Salerno (Amalfi Coast, Italy), and Portoferraio (Elba, Italy). The ship will stop at several of these ports from early morning until late afternoon, allowing guests to fully enjoy their experience in each city. In the coming weeks, the company will announce further details about the Costa Victoria's itineraries for after October 2020.
