Madrid, November 18, 2019 - As part of its initiatives dedicated to promoting the training and development of its employees, the Human Resources Department of Pullmantur Cruises has launched a new edition of Job Rotation, a program that allows its employees to work in a different department for a month.

This program, which began in 2018, driven by the Company's President & CEO, Richard J. Vogel, allows the full integration of participants into the area in which they develop their rotation, being guided by experienced colleagues who act as tutors.
As happened last year, in this new edition, Pullmantur Cruises employees have the opportunity to learn about and participate, as a member of the team, in the work carried out by another department, assigned according to their interests and qualities.
In the words of the Company's President & CEO, Richard J. Vogel, the project is "a very effective tool to increase the versatility and understanding that employees have of the organization, enhance their adaptability, increase synergies between departments, as well as discover new talent for possible internal promotion."
Furthermore, with this initiative, Pullmantur Cruises once again places its employees – its most valuable asset – at the forefront. As Vogel explains, “We are a people-centered company, whether they are our employees or our customers.”.
Departments and selection process
The program, open to all company employees, was very well received in 2018, with 18 participants. In this second edition, 27 employees have been selected (50% more than the previous edition) and will work in 13 departments (30% more), in areas as diverse as Marketing, Billing, Route Planning, and Corporate Communications, among others.
The employees themselves apply for the positions that interest them, and Human Resources selects the candidates and assigns them to a department taking into account their skills.
Employee reaction
The positive reaction of the staff is reflected in the comments received after the experience.
One of the participants in the previous edition was Carmen Mellen, who started working in the Booking area of Pullmantur Cruises 10 years ago, developing her career in different positions within that department.
“When the program was first announced,” Carmen says, “it seemed like a great opportunity to understand the tasks of another department, develop new skills and make myself known, since at that time I was doing a Master's in Digital Marketing as a complement to my university training in Advertising and Public Relations.”.
Regarding her experience, she adds that “it was a very intense month in which I felt totally involved in the Marketing department and where my tutor was concerned with sharing all her experience and projects with me, making me a part of all of them.”.
His restless attitude, experience and qualifications have opened the door to a vacancy, and he currently holds a position in the Trade Marketing department of Pullmantur Cruises.
