Royal Caribbean International has opened Perfect Day at CocoCay, the first island in its new collection of private Perfect Day Island. With a $250 million investment, this island offers a unique blend of fun and relaxation, defining a new vacation experience. The island boasts the tallest waterslide in North America, the largest wave pool in the Caribbean, and a helium balloon that reaches 130 meters in height, providing the perfect vantage point for capturing stunning photos of The Bahamas. Everything is designed to ensure a perfect day on the island.

Following a grand opening event over the weekend, Perfect Day at CocoCay is now open to the public, offering travelers a truly seamless experience. Exclusively for Royal Caribbean guests, this private haven can be accessed by sailing from Miami and other ports in Florida or the Northeast on any of the 11 ships that will include a stop at the island in their itineraries.
The Thrill Waterpark: the zone for the bravest
At the heart of Perfect Day at CocoCay is Thrill Waterpark, a water park that challenges even the most daring. The area features the following facilities:
- Daredevil's Tower, where visitors can push their limits on seven exciting slides of varying heights, including Daredevil's Peak, the tallest slide in North America at over 40 meters.
- Splash Summit – the most adventurous can compete on the six racing slides that Splash Summit has.
- Wave Pool – travelers can ride the tide in the largest wave pool in the Caribbean, where a timer on the wall announces the start of the biggest waves.
- Adventure pool – the pool includes an interactive obstacle course over the water, a climbing wall and two ropes for bouncing, climbing and swinging, accelerating your heart rate.
Up, Up and Away: The best views of The Bahamas
From Up, Up and Away, you get a different view. Royal Caribbean has designed a colorful balloon that ascends more than 130 meters above Perfect Day at CocoCay, allowing you to enjoy the island from the highest vantage point in The Bahamas and take incredible photographs with its crystal-clear waters as a backdrop.
Oasis Lagoon: Relax in the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean
Those seeking to disconnect and relax should make a stop at Oasis Lagoon, the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, whether to spend time with family, enjoy a cocktail with friends, or simply soak up the tropical sun. Bathers can visit three distinct coves, each with its own unique ambiance, and swim to the rhythm of the underwater sound system. Families with young children can splash around and experience new thrills at the children's beach entrance. On the south side of Oasis Lagoon, bathers can enjoy an ice cream at Coco Loco, sunbathe on in-water loungers, or indulge in total relaxation in a private cabana with a personal attendant.
Another of the island's beach areas is Chill Island, with crystal-clear tropical waters and white sand, where activities like snorkeling and jet skiing. Just steps away, travelers can enjoy a tasty barbecue on the beach at Chill Grill. Meanwhile, Skipper's Grill serves salads, sandwiches, tacos, hamburgers, fresh fruit, and desserts.
Perfect Day at CocoCay offers exciting options for all ages and tastes. Younger children can enjoy Captain Jack's Galleon, a pirate ship with multiple games, or Splashaway Bay, a water park where they can experience great adventures. In addition, there's a nearly 500-meter-long zip line that runs the length of the island.
Sports enthusiasts will find their haven on South Beach, an action-packed area offering volleyball, beach basketball, soccer, paddleboarding, glass-bottom kayaking, and zorbing in an inflatable zorb ball. When hunger strikes, they can grab a bite at the Snack Shack or refresh themselves at the floating bar with a drink.

Coco Beach Club is scheduled to open in December 2019 and will feature the following facilities:
- Overwater bungalows: The first overwater bungalows in The Bahamas will offer discerning guests a new level of luxury. Each will feature its own ocean slide, overwater hammock, shower, and dedicated staff—everything tourists could wish for.
- Infinity pool: with a surface area of almost 800 meters, this beachfront infinity pool transports you to ultimate relaxation with sun loungers in the water.
- Club and terrace area. The beachfront cabanas and daybeds will transport travelers to their own personal paradise. In addition, visitors can enjoy an exclusive restaurant serving freshly prepared Mediterranean cuisine with ocean views.
