The Vidanta Group announced its entry into the shipping industry with Vidanta Cruises, the first Mexican luxury cruise line, making Daniel Chávez's firm the first Mexican group to offer land and sea operations, after an investment of 2.7 billion pesos.
The fleet will consist of five vessels, with the Vidanta Elegant serving as the flagship for the group's entry into the cruise industry. The ship boasts 149 cabins and suites accommodating up to 297 passengers. Measuring 153 meters in length and weighing 15,000 tons, the vessel was designed with privacy and exclusivity in mind.
Vidanta Elegant will also feature six public decks and restaurants of different specialties, 11 bars and lounges, an entertainment area, spa, gym, a pool on the top deck and multiple jacuzzis, in addition to having one crew member for each passenger in order to give personalized attention to its clients.
“In 45 years we have built a legacy based on personalized services in our vacation resorts and now we are expanding it offshore, giving access to hidden gems of our coasts to create the best vacation and cultural experiences,” said Iván Chávez, executive vice president of Grupo Vidanta.
Information on itineraries, trip duration, destinations, dates, and prices will be released soon by the business group, although it did mention that the routes are designed to explore exclusive destinations and will depart from various ports in Mexico to visit destinations such as the Sea of Cortez, the Pacific, and the Caribbean.
