- The iconic Mediterranean
MSC Cruises is an expert in Mediterranean-style cruises, which is why the company will deploy eleven ships in this region during the summer of 2020. In addition to the company's new flagship, MSC Grandiosa, three other ships will sail the Western Mediterranean: MSC Divina, MSC Fantasia , and MSC Seaview, with weekly departures from Barcelona, Valencia, and Palma de Mallorca on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays. This innovative ship will sail the Mediterranean for the second consecutive summer, calling at Barcelona on Saturdays and continuing its itinerary to Cannes and Civitavecchia. Meanwhile, MSC Divina will sail to the Balearic Islands, including stops in Ibiza and an overnight stay in Palma de Mallorca. New this year, this ship will include a full-day stop in the port city of Naples. MSC Fantasia, for its part, will visit the islands of Sicily and Sardinia and will also call at Valencia.
In the Eastern Mediterranean, five ships will be deployed to meet the growing demand in the region. MSC Orchestra, MSC Musica, MSC Magnifica, MSC Sinfonia , and MSC Opera will offer itineraries to the Greek islands and the best destinations in the Adriatic Sea. Travelers will enjoy sights such as the iconic red-roofed houses of Dubrovnik, the dazzling white walls of Mykonos, and the magic of Venice, among other exotic destinations. Finally, for those seeking a longer cruise option in the autumn months, MSC Poesia and MSC Splendida offer twelve-night and nine-night cruises, respectively, to Portugal and Morocco or Madeira and the Canary Islands.
- MSC Grandiosa 's first summer season
Following its christening in November 2019, MSC Grandiosa will begin its inaugural summer season with one of MSC Cruises' most popular itineraries. Departing from its home port of Barcelona, it will sail to the French city of Marseille and continue its journey to Italy. From the historic port of Genoa, it will travel to Naples, where passengers can visit the mysterious and captivating ruins of Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that continues to fascinate travelers nearly 2,000 years after its destruction in 79 AD. From there, the modern ship will journey to the magnificent Sicilian city of Messina and then to Malta's vibrant capital, Valletta, before returning to Barcelona.
MSC Grandiosa is the third ship in the Meraviglia class and the first of the new, expanded Meraviglia-Plus prototype. This state-of-the-art smart ship will be the second to feature Zoe, the world's first digital cruise assistant, as an extension of MSC for Me, MSC Cruises' digital innovation program. The ship will also include other new features, such as 200 additional cabins compared to its sister ships, more public space, a longer promenade in the heart of the ship, and two new Cirque du Soleil at Sea shows, exclusive to MSC Cruises guests. MSC Grandiosa will further expand the MSC Yacht Club offering, as the ninth ship to feature the unique "cruise-within-a-cruise" concept, which will include complimentary Wi-Fi for the first time.
- The natural splendor of Northern Europe
In the summer 2020 season, MSC Cruises will deploy four ships in Northern Europe, offering longer cruises of up to 14 nights aboard MSC Preziosa, which will depart from Hamburg and travel north across the Atlantic to explore the unspoiled beauty of Norway and Iceland.
MSC Preziosa will also offer seven-night Northern Pearls cruises from Hamburg to Le Havre, Southampton, Zeebrugge, and Amsterdam. MSC Poesia, based in Warnemünde, Germany, will offer 11-night Baltic cruises and a combination of seven-night cruises visiting the Norwegian fjords and Baltic capitals, respectively. These voyages are the perfect opportunity to discover the hidden gems of Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, a great holiday alternative for nature lovers.
MSC Meraviglia , the all-season ship, will return to Northern Europe, and MSC Splendida will join it at its German home port of Kiel. MSC Splendida will offer a wide variety of stunning itineraries, including an extended cruise to Ireland's Emerald Isle to explore its hidden treasures and a return voyage around the North Cape before sailing back to Kiel.
Finally, one of the most outstanding offers for Northern Europe , for those who really want to immerse themselves in this incredible region, will be the impressive 21-night MSC Poesia cruise that includes Greenland and Iceland, perfect for nature and adventure lovers.
- Caribbean getaway
In 2020, the iconic MSC Seaside will continue its reign in the Caribbean, sailing 7-night itineraries from Miami and enjoying the vibrant energy of Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the turquoise waters of George Town, Cayman Islands, and the Mexican paradise of Cozumel. To complete the Western Caribbean itinerary, MSC Armonia will call at the incomparable city of Havana, where passengers will step back in time and experience its classic splendor during their overnight stay.
San Juan, St. Thomas, Nassau, and Ocean Cay combine both itineraries into a 14-night cruise. Both ships will also call at Ocean Cay, MSC Cruises' private marine reserve, which will open in November 2019. This stunning paradise, located off the coast of Miami in the Bahamas, will allow passengers to immerse themselves in a beautiful natural environment of dazzling blue waters and some of the best white-sand beaches in the world.
