Seabourn, one of the world's most luxurious cruise lines, unveiled its newest ship to the world with a festive christening ceremony in the port of Valletta, Malta, on May 11.
The Seabourn Ovation featured a performance by its godmother, actress and singer Elaine Paige, after which the ritual of smashing a bottle of champagne against the hull of the ship was followed.
A full orchestra accompanied the ceremony on the pool deck, and they played the company's new anthem, "We Sail to See the Lives of Others," for the first time. Finally, fireworks lit up Valletta Bay as the grand finale.
Seabourn Ovation is the fifth ship to join the Seabourn fleet in the last decade, and the second designed by the prestigious Adam D. Tihany design studio. Like its sister ship, Seabourn Encore, it features luxurious balcony suites and a modern interior design.
