Madrid, May 16, 2018.Family vacations can be a real headache for parents traveling with children. Planning a vacation that caters to the needs and preferences of members of different generations involves a number of complications, from varied interests to different energy levels. This is why many parents choose a cruise for their vacation, as it offers a wide variety of options to personalize their trip and adapt it to individual needs. MSC Cruises, the world's largest privately owned cruise line and industry leader in Europe and South America, will welcome 250,000 children on board this year and has therefore further expanded its family offerings, including new activities on the company's flagship, MSC Seaview, which will begin sailing this summer.

As a family-owned company, MSC Cruises has always based the cruise experience on the needs of families, and this summer its award-winning family offering[1] will have plenty of leisure options for the whole family.
NEW: Tourist attractions designed with families in mind
The Family Explorer Club concept involves children and parents alike in discovering land-based tourist attractions with tailor-made excursions adapted to the needs of the whole family. These interactive visits are designed to entertain children while also providing an engaging experience for adults. These visits are not simplified versions of excursions, but rather a completely new way to discover destinations together. Like detectives and explorers, children play a key role in carrying out a unique mission on each visit, inspired by the history of the destination and featuring an iconic historical figure representative of the city or region. Equipped with interactive exploration maps, parents help read the instructions and begin the mission, while children receive a sticker for each completed task, which they can keep as a wonderful souvenir at the end of the trip.
Children and parents can unleash their imagination and enjoy solving riddles and games together, with the help of experienced staff, trained guides and storytellers on all tours.
Children's tickets are half price on tours made up exclusively of families. Excursions usually start in the morning and last no more than 3-4 hours, so the children don't get too tired and can return to the ship to enjoy everything that awaits them on board.
The Family Explorer Club will be available on ships sailing in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
NEW: The ship of the summer
In anticipation of the MSC Seaview 's launch in June 2018, MSC Cruises is preparing an ever-expanding array of activities for children of all ages. This "ship of the summer" will dedicate its onboard activities to this theme, featuring interactive games and new characters. This new, state-of-the-art ship will welcome approximately 1,300 children on each cruise this summer.
Dore Summer, an 11-year-old surfer mascot with a very fitting name, is the newest addition to the MSC Seaview. She will star in a new children's exploration game called "Find Dore Summer," which will take place throughout the ship and offer plenty of prizes for younger passengers.
Other summer-themed games will include a social media challenge aimed at teenagers and a selfie , in which young people on board MSC Seaview will compete to complete a list of 30 selfies taken in every corner of the ship.
Joining the extensive list of children's activities already available on MSC Cruises, MSC Seaview will also offer the DOREMI Summer Game, a new live family show where parents and children can challenge each other to guess popular songs and videos, and also the DOREMI Summer Parade, which will be held in the pool every day at sea.
Another new feature will be the new episodes of “Kelly and Kloe on board… holidays at Seaview”, the popular web series that will be filmed on MSC Seaview during the summer of 2018. Younger passengers will have the opportunity to participate in a casting call to become the new star of the series.
MSC Seaview will become the perfect ship for family holidays, as it has the largest children's and youth areas in the entire MSC Cruises fleet, with a total of more than 700 m2that include a Chicco baby room with all the necessary facilities for the little ones, as well as two LEGO rooms: one with an island theme for children aged 3-6 and another with a pirate theme for children aged 7-11.
NEW: Memories of an unforgettable cruise experience
For many years, our partners LEGO® and Chicco have contributed their unparalleled expertise to the Kids Club program. This year, 2018, they are not only returning aboard the MSC Seaview , but Chicco is also introducing an MSC Seaside toy ship so babies and toddlers can take home a souvenir from their cruise. The Chicco MSC Cruises toy ship is suitable for children aged 2 to 6 and includes realistic ship's horn sounds and lively Caribbean music. This new Chicco toy ship joins the already popular LEGO MSC Meraviglia souvenir
LEGO and Chicco offer a wide range of exceptional products for families across the fleet, with the Chicco Baby Club reserved for passengers under three years old, allowing parents with babies to enjoy their holidays. The partnership with LEGO gives families access to playrooms and entertainment options from the world's leading toy manufacturer, and children can even earn a LEGO® Master Builder diploma by participating in the LEGO Experience Day.
