Madrid, April 11, 2018 - Costa Cruises has opened sales for the season from spring 2019 to spring 2020 with a program that includes cruises from 3 to 112 days, and two new ships.
The Costa Smeralda, the company's new flagship, is a tribute to Italian hospitality and style. On this ship, sensations and emotions are shared around spacious piazzas with friends and loved ones, and experienced from a unique perspective: that of the sea. This love for the maritime world is also reflected in its respect for the environment: the Costa Smeralda is the first cruise ship powered by Liquefied Natural Gas, the cleanest fuel in the world.
At 337 meters long, it is a ship totally oriented towards the contemplation of the sea: from large pedestrian walkways and exterior staircases like the Piazza di Spagna, to restaurants with outdoor terraces and even 106 cabins with private gardens and totally open to the sea.
This ship will offer countless possibilities for customizing your vacation, thanks to its extensive range of dining, wellness and entertainment options: 11 restaurants, 19 bars, 4 swimming pools, a water park, the Samsara Spa with a thalassotherapy room, 16 treatment rooms, and a snow and salt room.
The Costa Smeralda's inaugural voyage will begin on November 4, 2019 in Barcelona and, from then on, will sail the waters of the Mediterranean on a 7-night cruise, inviting you to enjoy the cities and surrounding areas of Palma, Rome, La Spezia, Savona and Marseille, with embarkation and disembarkation in Barcelona and Palma.
The second novelty will be the extraordinary inaugural cruise of the Costa Venezia, the second Costa Cruises ship powered by Liquefied Natural Gas: a 53-day journey from Trieste to Tokyo following in the footsteps of Marco Polo, with embarkations in Trieste on March 8, 2019 and in Bari three days later, on the 11th.
In addition, another important new feature will be the positioning of the Costa Fortuna in the Port of Valencia in spring and autumn of 2019, with a 7-night itinerary through the Western Mediterranean, which will include a stop in Civitavecchia (Rome).
The entire 2019-2020 program incorporates new itineraries such as Around the World, Grand Cruises, Dubai, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, Far East (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia), Indian Ocean and Maldives, Caribbean (Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands, Antilles, Bahamas, Mexico and the USA), Mediterranean, Northern Europe (Norwegian Fjords and Baltic Capitals) and Mini-experiences (between 3 and 6 nights).
And once again, Costa offers its customers superior connectivity thanks to its wide range of direct flights and trains from major Spanish cities to the embarkation ports, with the aim of ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of both the customer and the travel agency.
