Madrid, January 24, 2018. As part of the FITUR 2018 celebration, Costa Cruises has been awarded by the government of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay for its contribution to the development and promotion of this country as an international tourist destination.
During the Southern Hemisphere summer season, Costa Cruises includes Uruguay as a destination for some of its larger ships. With 16 calls in Montevideo and 5 in Punta del Este, Costa Cruises' operations in this country allow nearly 75,000 passengers the opportunity to discover Uruguay's attractions, either through excursions offered by the company in collaboration with local organizations, or independently.
At the event, held last Thursday as part of FITUR 2018, Raffaele D'Ambrosio, general manager of Costa Cruises for Spain and Portugal, received this recognition from Liliam Kechichián, Minister of Tourism of the Government of Uruguay.
