For the second consecutive year, the Italian company will fund a research grant for young Italian female researchers, with the recipient selected by the Umberto Veronesi Foundation . The " Pink is Good " awareness campaign will run for a week on Costa ships in the Mediterranean and will primarily consist of distributing informational materials in every cabin about breast cancer prevention methods, along with suggestions for healthy lifestyles and regular medical checkups.

Therefore, last Monday, coinciding with its stop in the port of Naples, “Un camino in rosa, guardando il mare” (A Pink Path, Looking Out at the Sea) was organized—an evocative, non-competitive walk of approximately 6.5 km along the Naples seafront, between Via F. Petrarca and the Stazione Marittima cruise terminal. The aim was to support the breast cancer prevention activities promoted by the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, also tangibly through fundraising. Anyone who came to the square in front of the terminal at 2 p.m. could participate in this walk, including guests and crew of the Costa Fascinosa. Furthermore, one participant won a Mediterranean cruise for two on board the same ship.

This initiative was organized by Costa Cruises, the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, the Marinter Shipping Agency and ASD RuNaples and supported by the City Council of Naples, which added the walk to the “Stati Generali del Mare 2017”, a festival of free events about the sea that is taking place in the city during the months of October and November.
