Crystal River Cruises has christened the first of its four newly built Rhine Class river cruise ships in Rüdesheim, Germany. Crystal President Edie Rodriguez presided over the ceremony, along with Grand Master of Ceremonies Mark Farris. The ship's godmother, German opera star Anna-Maria Kaufmann, christened the Crystal Bach in a celebration featuring a special performance of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Air.".
“The excitement surrounding this revolutionary vessel has been tremendous, and we couldn’t be more proud to welcome the Crystal Bach to Crystal River’s award-winning fleet,” says Rodriguez. “The fact that it is Crystal’s first newly built river vessel creating a luxury river cruising experience is unprecedented.”.
The design of the ships firmly reiterates Crystal's commitment not only to surpass the best in the luxury travel industry, but to lead the new standards of luxury – a philosophy also confirmed with the christening and debut of the Crystal Skye last week in Las Vegas.

The festivities surrounding the christening of Cristal Bach reached far beyond those in attendance in Germany, as Crystal broadcast the ceremony live via its Crystal Cruises Facebook page, inviting the world to join in the celebration.
The four Rhine-class river cruise ships will offer luxurious amenities and spaces, including Panoramic Balcony-Windows™, dressing rooms and double vanities in bathrooms in most categories, ETRO bathrobes and slippers, flat-screen HD televisions, and Nespresso machines. Other attractive features include a luxurious spa and fitness center, as well as Crystal's fabulous Michelin-inspired cuisine, served in multiple restaurants: the elegant Waterside Restaurant, bistro cafes, and the exclusive Vintage Room or Palm Court.
