Thanks to the renewal of its commitment, MSC Cruises will have a presence at the renowned Barcelona club with a tent in the VIP Village, a stand in the Fan Boulevard, and visibility on the center court. As a major new feature this year, MSC Cruises will offer tournament attendees the opportunity to try virtual reality glasses for a unique 360º experience, discover new destinations, and get a sneak peek at the world's most modern ship, the MSC Meraviglia, which will arrive in Barcelona on June 9th for 8-day itineraries in the Western Mediterranean.

Within the framework of the tournament, MSC Cruises will present its 2018 and 2019 itinerary to strategic partners and media representatives. The presentation will showcase its new itineraries and key innovations, including Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, an exclusive vacation destination in the Bahamas; a collaboration with Cirque du Soleil for exclusive shows aboard MSC Meraviglia; and MSC World Cruise, a round-the-world cruise aboard MSC Magnifica departing in January 2019. Furthermore, MSC Cruises has launched a €9 billion investment plan to build 11 new ships by 2026. This investment includes three vessels scheduled to be launched in 2017 (MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaside) and 2018 (MSC Seaview).

Both MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaview will have Barcelona as their home port for the first year of sailing.

Fernando Pacheco, Deputy Director of MSC Cruises in Spain, stated: “Sponsoring the Barcelona Open Banc de Sabadell again allows us to be part of one of the biggest events that combines sport and leisure, as well as reaffirm our commitment to the city of Barcelona, where two of our latest generation ships will arrive: MSC Meraviglia, in June of this year, and MSC Seaview, in May 2018.”

MSC Cruises is a company that promotes physical exercise and well-being, both through its sponsorships and on its own ships. Along these lines, in 2016, the company signed an agreement with Technogym to design unique programs and meet the growing demand for wellness travel.
