Cunard Line has unveiled “Oceans of Discovery,” its 2019 winter program, which will include a trip to Alaska. The company will be traveling to Alaska 20 years after its last visit.
Cunard's flagship, the Queen Mary 2, and its sister ships, the Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Victoria, will visit 49 countries and 109 different destinations during the first months of 2019. Of those stops, 21 will be new destinations.
Cunard will also offer its famous world cruises aboard the Queen Victoria in 2019, while the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth will offer exotic voyages with more concentrated and intense itineraries.
“Cunard’s 2019 winter program includes destinations around the world, some of which we haven’t visited in years. Our itineraries have been designed to allow passengers to enjoy port calls and time on board to relax and experience everything our ships have to offer,” said Josh Leibowitz, Cunard’s Vice President of North America.
Exclusively for Cunard World Club members, bookings will be available from March 28, 2017, and bookings will open to the general public on March 29, 2017.
Queen Elizabeth
In 2019, the Queen Elizabeth offers a series of voyages and new itineraries from international ports. These will be the Grand Voyages, exotic cruises that capture the adventurous spirit of passengers. The Queen Elizabeth offers:
- 25 different itineraries, from 5 to 38 nights
- 54 ports
- 18 countries
- 25 stops debuting with the Queen Elizabeth such as Kangaroo Island (Australia), Boracay (Philippines), Cape Town (South Africa) or Wellington (New Zealand).
Queen Victoria
The Queen Victoria will embark on its round-the-world cruise via the Panama Canal. The ship will depart from Southampton and begin by crossing the Atlantic to Florida. It will then cross the Pacific via Hawaii and head towards Samoa and New Zealand. From there, it will sail to Sydney before traveling to Hong Kong. After its visit to Asia, the Queen Victoria will return to Southampton via Singapore, the Indian Ocean, and South Africa. The Queen Victoria offers:
- 37 different itineraries from 2 to 107 nights
- 40 ports
- 24 countries
- Spend the night in San Francisco, Sydney, Hong Kong and Cape Town
- Crossing the Panama Canal
Queen Mary 2
The Queen Mary 2 will sail its "Cunard & Regions of the World" itinerary through the Mediterranean, the Persian Gulf, the Indian Ocean, and the Far East. These voyages, ranging from one to three weeks in length, will be combined in a variety of ways to allow passengers to enjoy a customized experience.
The journey begins in New York with a voyage to Southampton. It then travels to the Persian Gulf via the Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal. From there, the Queen Mary 2 crosses the Indian Ocean and enters Asia through the Strait of Malacca. It then travels north through Malaysia and Hong Kong to Beijing. The return journey includes stops in Korea, Vietnam, and India, as well as a selection of destinations in the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean before its return to New York. The Queen Mary 2 offers:
- 28 different travel itineraries ranging from 7 to 108 nights
- 36 ports
- 25 countries
- The first four stops of the Queen Mary 2 were in Doha, Qatar; Mormugao, India; Seogwipo on Jeju Island, South Korea; and Chennai, India
- Spend the night in Haifa, Singapore (two separate nights), Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tianjin
- Transit through the Suez Canal
