Passengers looking to delve deeper into Cuba's culture and nightlife will now have the opportunity to experience the island at night thanks to new itineraries available aboard the "Empress of the Seas." The global cruise line has expanded its Caribbean itineraries from Tampa, including 4- and 5-night cruises with day and night visits to Havana, as well as stops in Key West, Florida, and Cozumel, Mexico. The new routes will be available through November 4, 2017, and are now on sale.
Visiting Cuba with Royal Caribbean includes a trip back to the 1950s in a classic American car to tour Havana, with stops at the historic and luxurious Hotel Nacional de Cuba and Revolution Square, as well as a scenic tour along the island's famous seaside Malecón.
The cruise offers a walking tour to explore the city's most famous landmarks up close, including Old Havana and the Havana Club Museum, an 18th-century colonial mansion where the renowned rum of the same name is produced. For literature lovers, a unique excursion takes them to the favorite haunts of novelist Ernest Hemingway, including the place where he lived, fished, dined, and sipped his favorite cocktails.
At night, passengers can experience the "other" Cuba – its nightlife. From visiting the Tropicana Club to enjoy a performance by the Buena Vista Social Club to witnessing the Cannon Shot ceremony, one of Havana's oldest traditions.
The vibrant Cuban culture will also fill the Empress of the Seas. From "cortadatos and café con leche" at Café Royal to salsa and dancing at the Boleros Latin Lounge.
