The Excellence Cruise Awards gala will be held on February 16 in Cartagena for the second year in a row, this being the Gala of its tenth anniversary.
The ceremony will bring together, as every year, the main executives of cruise shipping companies, cruise tour operators, shipping agents, ports and destinations, travel agents, press, collaborators, professionals and businesspeople from Cartagena and Murcia, and other suppliers in the sector.
The Cruise Excellence Awards are the result of a large-scale survey conducted among national cruise passengers, a fact that gives special value to the results, as they represent the assessment of the passengers themselves.
More than 300 attendees will fill the "El Batel" Auditorium and enjoy a special gala to mark the tenth anniversary of awards whose previous editions were held in Barcelona, Malaga, Bilbao and Palma de Mallorca.
This edition, promoted and sponsored by the Port Authority and the City Council of Cartagena, also has the sponsorship of Estrella de Levante, BC Agency, Autobuses Vidal, Cruises Atlantic Islands, Bags&go, Agencia Marítima Blazquez Cruises, the Association of Maritime Activities Entrepreneurs (ASEAM) of Cartagena and Mediterranean Unique Experience.
The choice of Cartagena, a city experiencing significant growth in the sector, stems from the consolidation of the Port of Cartagena as one of the Spanish destinations that has seen the greatest increase in recent years. Furthermore, in 2016, Cartagena debuted as a cruise port of embarkation. For 2017, it anticipates more than 150 cruises with over 230,000 passengers, coinciding with the opening of access to the cruise terminal, which has recently been expanded and renovated.
The awards are given in the following categories: Best Spanish Port, Best Crew, Best Cruise Line, Best Entertainment, Best Value for Money, Best Premium Cruise Line, Best Luxury Cruise Line, Best Ship in the Mediterranean, Best Image among consumers, Best River Tourism Company, Best Non-Spanish Port/Destination in the Mediterranean, Best Cruise Line for a First Cruise and Best Brand Recognition among travel agents.
