Costa Cruises will once again embark on its most exciting journey, the Around the World Cruise. This spectacular voyage, aboard the Costa Luminosa, will take Costa Cruises guests 106 days to discover destinations on all five continents, sailing three oceans to visit 35 different ports of call, before returning to Savona, Italy, on April 22, 2017.
More than 2,000 cruise passengers will go around the world with Costa Cruises in 2017. Coming from 37 different countries, the passengers on this unique journey are French (around 600), German (almost 500), Swiss (around 300), Italian (more than 200) and Spanish (around 150).
This round-the-world itinerary will traverse both tropics, passing through the Strait of Gibraltar and heading towards Cape Horn, before reaching Polynesia, crossing Australia, India, the Suez Canal, and ending in the Italian port of Savona. Along the way, the Costa Luminosa will visit stunning destinations such as Casablanca (Morocco), Salvador and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Punta Arenas and Valparaíso (Chile), Easter Island (Chile), Tahiti (Polynesia), Auckland (New Zealand), Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth (Australia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Kochi, Goa, and Mumbai (India), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Muscat (Oman), and Aqaba-Petra (Jordan), among others.
One of the main advantages of a cruise is its extended stops, allowing guests to explore each destination in depth through the company's excursions. A prime example is a stay in Ushuaia, where you can spend four days enjoying the two main tourist attractions of Southern Patagonia: the breathtaking Perito Moreno and Torres del Paine National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its numerous glaciers, lakes, rivers, and valleys.
