For the first time, the number of tourists exceeded 70,000, surpassing by more than 8,000 people the best month recorded to date, with 61,789 passengers, in May 2015.

The cumulative total through September reached 271,026 passengers and 191 stopovers. If forecasts hold true, October could also see a new record broken, this time in the number of stopovers, with 49.

On October 6, four cruise ships will coincide in the Cadiz dock and five on October 24, which will generate a significant movement of passengers and crew, around 10,000 people each day.

It is important to remember the socioeconomic impact that cruise traffic has on the surrounding area. According to the latest study carried out by the Andalusian Regional Government on cruise tourism in the region, the average expenditure per passenger per day is estimated at around €34.23 (2015).
