The Azamara Journey will incorporate the Azamara Forward improvements in November 2028

Azamara Cruises will continue developing its comprehensive fleet renewal program, called Azamara Forward, with a series of upgrades aboard the Azamara Journey in November 2028. The ship is scheduled to enter dry dock for two weeks, from November 16 to 30, to incorporate various updates aimed at improving the passenger experience on board.

The Azamara Journey will incorporate the Azamara Forward improvements in November 2028The Azamara Forward program includes a series of improvements across the entire fleet, with the aim of renewing the dining spaces, entertainment options and social areas, while preserving the intimate atmosphere that characterizes the company's smaller ships.

The planned improvements include the renovation of the Discoveries restaurant, the creation of an exclusive Chef's Table dining experience, a new concept for the Atlas Bar, the transformation of the Cabaret Lounge, and a complete renovation of the Sanctum Spa. The cabins and suites will also be updated, and the ship's public spaces will be enhanced.

The program will also incorporate new opportunities for passengers to share experiences related to dining, entertainment, and onboard activities. As previously announced, the Penthouse Deck will remain exclusive to the Azamara Quest and will not be added to the Azamara Journey.

“We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the Azamara experience while keeping in mind what our guests value most when they travel with us,” said Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises. “Azamara Forward allows us to thoughtfully refurbish our ships, creating welcoming spaces where guests can connect, enjoy exceptional cuisine and entertainment, and feel at home amidst the extraordinary destinations they discover with us. We look forward to incorporating these enhancements into Azamara Journey and welcoming our guests so they can experience them firsthand.”.

The upcoming dry-dock entry represents a new milestone in Azamara's ongoing investment in its fleet. The program builds upon the initial upgrades implemented on the Azamara Quest and those planned for the Azamara Onward in 2027.

Through these renovations, the company continues to refine its onboard experience, maintaining its commitment to itineraries with a wealth of destinations, personalized service, and trips that allow passengers to explore each place in depth.

Following the completion of renovations, the Azamara Journey will debut its refurbished spaces on November 30, 2028, departing from Athens, Greece, for a 12-night itinerary through Greece and Egypt. The cruise will also conclude in Athens, allowing passengers to enjoy the new facilities while exploring various destinations in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The company will provide more information about this itinerary and booking availability in the coming weeks, coinciding with the opening of sales for its next program.

The Azamara Forward program is already underway. The Azamara Quest will debut its own upgrades after entering dry dock in November 2026. Its first cruise after the refurbishment is scheduled for December 18, 2026, marking the first milestone of this fleet-wide modernization program.
