MedCruise, the Mediterranean Cruise Ports Association, has recognized the work carried out by Ships of Hope, which aims to raise awareness of the need for improved surgery in developing countries.
Ships of Hope is made up of a team of volunteers who work on their ships, converted into floating hospitals, to help the less fortunate.
Thanos Pallis, Secretary General of MedCruise, stated that “cruise ports and the cruise industry have made corporate social responsibility a priority. These ports hope that their support will help Ships of Hope attract more volunteers and continue its mission.”.
Ricardo Menzies, representative of Ships of Hope, declared: “MedCruise is an important organization in the cruise industry in this region and we are delighted that they have chosen us to carry our message as we seek more volunteers, donors and partners to help us improve the lives of those who have no hope without us.”.
