More than 15 cruise lines will participate in this training and networking event.
The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA)is once again organizing its Technical and Regulatory Forum next Monday, May 9th, in London.
More than 15 cruise line managers will join CLIA Executive Partners in celebrating this second annual forum, which will take place in UBM's 19-story offices with a panoramic view of the city of London.
The Forum will focus on CLIA’s training platform established over the past year and will bring together expert industry leaders to discuss the technical factors and regulations affecting the sector. CLIA member cruise lines and Executive Partners participate in and contribute to CLIA’s work with the International Maritime Organization, the European Union, and other regulators worldwide to ensure that cruise operations remain safe and sustainable and to support the industry’s continued growth.
Among the experts will be Tom Strang, Senior Vice President of Maritime Relations at Carnival Corporation; Pierfrancesco Lepore, Medical Director and Head of Corporate Medical Services at MSC Cruises; and Gerry Elli, Director of Maritime Safety and Compliance for Safety, Environment, and Health at Royal Caribbean. The discussions will focus on the latest industry developments regarding environmental challenges and solutions, specifically the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG); public health measures related to food safety; the importance of technological innovations; and a review of the industry's latest advancements in its ongoing commitment to safety.
This year's program has been expanded to include a dinner, organized in conjunction with the Port of Kirkwall (Orkney Islands) at the Swan Restaurant in Shakespeare's Globel, following a welcome cocktail for delegates.
