Norwegian Cruise Line presents the Norwegian Edge program

Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled Norwegian Edge™, an innovative program that promises to introduce a new standard of excellence encompassing the entire guest experience, from onboard amenities to culinary enhancements and the development of exclusive private destinations. The centerpiece of this program is a comprehensive fleet refurbishment initiative that will elevate the onboard experience on Norwegian's ships to this new standard.

“Norwegian has a long tradition of investing in its fleet to offer guests the latest and greatest innovations, but the investment to elevate our ships to the Norwegian Edge™ takes it to another level,” said Andy Stuart, President and Chief Operating Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line. “The new standards of the Norwegian Edge program will entice our guests to return time and again to our ships, which will feel brand new thanks to new menus and dining experiences, visiting incredible exclusive destinations that reflect the high-quality facilities, amenities, and exceptional service of the Norwegian fleet.”

The Norwegian Edge program aims to create modern, relevant, and enjoyable vacation experiences for guests at all times, an approach that fits perfectly with the brand's unique promise of freedom and flexibility, which is highlighted in Norwegian's new marketing campaign, Feel Free.

The extensive fleet renovation program is the centerpiece of Norwegian Edge, through which multiple existing spaces aboard nine ships will be completely transformed to reflect the premium look and feel of the company's newest and most spectacular vessels. As the cruise line with the youngest fleet in North America, this extensive renovation program will go far beyond traditional furniture and decor updates, making Norwegian's ships feel brand new.

Throughout the renovation program, a total of seven additional ships will enter dry dock for customer-facing and technical upgrades: the Pride of America and the Norwegian Sun in spring 2016; the Norwegian Dawn in summer 2016; the Norwegian Spirit, the Norwegian Sky and the Norwegian Pearl in winter 2017; and the Norwegian Jade in spring 2017.

Norwegian has further expanded its plans for private destinations, including the development of a premier resort-style experience at Harvest Caye, Belize. This spectacular resort-style port of call will feature a large swimming pool, an exclusive beach, a shallow lagoon for water sports, private luxury cabanas, and many more exciting amenities, all nestled within the region's rich ecosystems, with a diversity of flora and fauna that is central to the Harvest Caye experience.
