The Valencian Tourism Agency and the Port Authority of Castellón are studying ways to boost cruise traffic

The Regional Secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer, met with Francisco Toledo, President of Portcastelló, to discuss the port's role in the provincial tourism offerings and model.
Integrating the Port of Castellón into the Valencian Regional Government's tourism strategy was one of the main conclusions reached at this meeting.
One of the agreements reached was the creation of a joint working group between the Valencian Tourism Agency and Portcastelló to boost cruise traffic in Castellón.
To this end, Susana Soria, head of cruises at the Port of Castellón, will join a working group of the Valencian Tourism Agency to design a joint strategy to increase tourism in Castellón and the surrounding province through the port via cruise ships docking there. Portcastelló will also have a representative from the Valencian Tourism Agency on its Cruise Committee. This will allow for further study.
Furthermore, Toledo invited Colomer to have the Valencian Tourism Agency become a patron or collaborator of the Portcastelló Foundation, through which cruise ship sales will be developed.
Likewise, the Valencian Tourism Agency was also offered the opportunity to participate in the design process for a large tourist, commercial, leisure, and cultural area on the land north of the Levante Wharf, which will cease to be used for port purposes in 2027.
The fishing sector was another topic discussed. A meeting with the Fishermen's Association is planned to explore the development of tourism projects related to this sector.
