CLIA launches a program for travel agents in France

With tools for the productivity of travel agencies

The program will soon arrive on the Spanish market

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is launching a comprehensive cruise training program for travel agents in Europe today. This is the first program of its kind in France and is designed to educate, engage, and support the country's travel agencies. The program, which will also be launched soon in Spain, will bring together the cruise community with the aim of increasing the number of people choosing a cruise as a vacation option.

For the first time, travel agents in France who become CLIA members will have access to the Cruise Experts program, which combines online training and a variety of resources in one place, while also offering agents the opportunity to work toward industry-recognized accreditation. Developed by CLIA, the world's leading cruise industry association, Cruise Experts will provide travel agents with the tools they need to increase their cruise sales through an interactive website.

CLIA-accredited travel agents are recognized throughout the global cruise industry as knowledgeable experts in cruise sales. They also play a vital role in increasing the number of people choosing cruises as their vacation option.

To support the online portal, CLIA will launch a number of events in 2016 to bring together different travel agents, cruise line executives and industry partners to continue informing travel agencies about all aspects related to the cruise sector.

The Cruise Experts platform is organized into three distinct areas. The first, The Learning Academy, offers nearly 90 modules on cruises and cruise sales training, as well as a resource center containing extensive reports and statistics. The Cruise Toolbox features tools designed to assist agents throughout the sales process, including a unique digital catalog, CLIA fact sheets, a fully updated cruise search engine, and guides to top CLIA destinations. The third area is CLIA Cruise Daily, which includes the latest news from the cruise industry

and columns written by special guests, plus a calendar of the main industry events available to travel agents.

CLIA France Director Cedric Rivoire-Perrochat stated, “The launch of Cruise Experts in France demonstrates the commitment of CLIA and its members to the growth of cruise sales in the country. Last year, we witnessed a record number of people choosing to go on cruise vacations, and with CLIA France now investing in a national program like this dedicated to travel agents, we are fully prepared to continue increasing those figures.”.

CLIA currently offers travel agent programs in the UK, the US and Australia, and will soon launch it in Spain.

“Our country will be the second in Europe to incorporate this program, becoming one of the pioneering European countries to implement a tool of this kind, which will be fundamental to further promoting Spain as one of the most important markets in the European cruise industry,” stated Alfredo Serrano, National Director of CLIA Spain. Thanks to this program, Spanish travel agents will be able to use their resources to increase cruise sales in the Spanish market.
