The stunning ships will be even more modern and luxurious with new open spaces, upgraded suites, and a renowned specialty restaurant
Following the multi-million dollar investment to "solstize" the Millennium class ships, Celebrity Cruises will make even more upgrades to two of the ships in this class, adding a series of exciting improvements that will enhance the Modern Luxury experience on board.
The first cruise line to offer a deck with natural grass will further elevate the concept of luxurious outdoor spaces with the addition of a rooftop terrace to the Celebrity Infinity , a first for the Celebrity fleet. This addition will take place during a refurbishment this month. Featuring new, comfortable furnishings and unique artistic elements, the ship will also boast a giant screen for showing movies while guests enjoy gourmet cuisine. The refurbishment will also extend to the Penthouse and Royal Suites and will include the transformation of one of its specialty restaurants into another of Celebrity Cruises' most famous establishments, the Tuscan Grille. The Celebrity Summit , meanwhile, will undergo a similar refurbishment in March 2016.
“The Rooftop Terrace is a new way to enjoy the outdoors in a way that’s in keeping with the luxury vacation experience we offer,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises. “The popularity of our Lawn Club decks has shown us that some of the best moments our guests experience on board happen outside our ships. With the Rooftop Terrace, we wanted to create an unforgettable space where our guests can relax under the stars while enjoying unique entertainment and dining.” The Rooftop Terrace will be located on Deck 12 and will officially open on December 5, 2015.
Celebrity Cruises has made a significant investment in the suites on the Celebrity Infinity and Celebrity Summit, with each Penthouse and Royal Suite featuring new additions such as marble surfaces and comfortable seating in the bathrooms, as well as numerous exclusive touches like bedding and carpeting.
“We want these suites to be so luxurious and comfortable that our guests will find it difficult to leave them when their vacation is over,” Lutoff-Perlo commented.
The Celebrity Infinity 's restaurant , "SS United States," will be transformed into the renowned Tuscan Grille, a Mediterranean-inspired steakhouse. The decor of the former restaurant will be preserved and displayed in the casino's entrance lobby, while on the Celebrity Summit, the "Normandie" restaurant will become the Tuscan Grill.
Additionally, on both ships:
- A photography shop similar to those on the Solstice Class ships Celebrity Eclipse and Celebrity Equinox will be added.
- There will be an office where future cruises can be purchased,
- The Solarium will renovate its floors, furniture and pools, and exclusive details will be added to the spa café
- The casino's themed decoration will be removed.
The Celebrity Infinity will enter dry dock for refurbishment on October 15 and will depart on October 29. Afterward, it will transit the Panama Canal until December 5, when its South American season will begin. The Celebrity Summit, meanwhile, will offer 7-night cruises in the southern Caribbean before and after its refurbishment (from February 27 to March 12, 2016), before setting sail in April for Cape Liberty (Bayonne), from where it will cruise Bermuda throughout the summer.
