Nestled at the foot of the rugged Dolomites lies Cortina d'Ampezzo, the picturesque Italian town renowned not only for hosting the Winter Olympics and World Ski Championships, but also for its designer boutiques and elegant restaurants. Passengers on Silversea luxury cruises can explore its mountains and surrounding area with "Hiking in Cortina," an optional three-night shore excursion available before or after Mediterranean cruises departing from or returning to Venice.
If strolling through the ancient cobblestone streets of Cortina d'Ampezzo isn't challenging enough, the "Hiking in Cortina" tour also includes a guided hike along a Via Ferrata for the more adventurous. This narrow route is fully equipped for all skill levels, even those with little experience in climbing techniques. Participants can set their own pace and choose the duration of the pre-planned route, which will be carefully studied and prepared with their mountain guide.
Intrepid hikers can enjoy three nights at the Rosapetra Spa Resort and relax in its magnificent facilities such as the heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna or Turkish baths among others.

The “Hiking in Cortina” program includes up to eight hours with a certified alpine guide, use of safety equipment, accommodation, transfers between the airport, hotel, and pier, and some meals.
