This is the second MSC Cruises ship undergoing the Renaissance Program to call at the city.
MSC Sinfonia, from MSC Cruises, the leading cruise company in the Mediterranean, has made a stop in the port of Cadiz today after undergoing an extensive renovation process as part of the Renaissance Program, valued at €200 million, which included the insertion of a new pre-built central section 24 meters long with 193 extra cabins.
The welcoming ceremony was held today in the Port of Cádiz aboard the MSC Sinfonia and was attended by Kate Bonner, Head of the Commercial Department of the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz, as well as representatives of other municipal authorities, who expressed their appreciation for MSC Cruises' confidence in the city's potential as a cruise destination, as demonstrated by the regular port calls made by the company's ships since autumn 2009. After visiting Cádiz, the MSC Sinfonia will continue sailing through Spanish waters to Barcelona, from where it will head to Marseille before concluding its itinerary in Genoa on April 24.
The newly refurbished MSC Sinfonia is now longer and more elegant, featuring a new water park on deck 13 as well as new dedicated children's areas created in partnership with Chicco® and LEGO®, including new Baby Club, Mini Club, Young Club, and Teens Club. MSC Cruises has also redesigned the onboard dining experience, extending the buffet hours to 20 hours a day, opening new spaces and a new lounge area, and adding a larger restaurant. The ship's wellness area, MSC Aurea Spa, has also been expanded and now features new massage cabins.
