This morning, the largest cruise ship of the current season, the MSC Virtuosa, docked in the port of Ferrol. Measuring 331 meters in length and 43 meters in beam, it can accommodate up to 8,000 people, including passengers and crew, although health and safety protocols have significantly reduced the ship's capacity. All operations were carried out in coordination with health authorities and the cruise line.
With this visit, the first of the MSC Virtuosa to the naval city, the port continues on its path towards recovery to normality, also in cruise passenger traffic.
The president of the Ferrol-San Cibrao Port Authority, Francisco Barea, carried out the formal exchange of plaques with the ship's captain, Stefano Battinelli, in an event also attended by the director of Bergé Cruises, José Luis Carretero.
Following today's and Tuesday's, a third cruise ship stop is scheduled for this week: the Amera, 205 meters long, tomorrow.
