P&O Cruises welcomed DJ, broadcaster and world pioneer of dance music Pete Tong MBE aboard the Arvia in Ibiza on Saturday, September 19, who offered passengers an exclusive 90-minute DJ set in the ship's SkyDome.
The event took place while the Arvia was docked at Botafoc pier during a 14-night itinerary in the Western Mediterranean, giving passengers the opportunity to enjoy a performance by one of the great figures of dance music precisely on the island closely linked to his professional career.
More than 900 P&O Cruises passengers attended the session, including VIP guests such as Big Zuu and Melvin Odoom. Pete Tong brought his signature Ibiza sound to the Arvia's SkyDome, transforming the space into an onboard Ibiza-inspired nightclub.
“I’m still thinking about Saturday night. I loved DJing at the Arvia SkyDome. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it so special,” said Pete Tong.
Passengers were also able to enjoy an authentic 'Taste of Ibiza' experience with Hierbas Ibicencas, the island's iconic herbal liqueur, distilled exclusively in Ibiza and Formentera since 1880. Made from a blend of 18 local botanicals, including thyme, rosemary, mountain mint and citrus peels, this traditional Balearic liqueur was served alongside classic Ibiza-inspired cocktails and regional dishes at the Arvia's Sunset Bar.

Considered a pivotal figure in the global dance music scene, Pete Tong is renowned for his talent for discovering new artists and remains one of the industry's most influential figures. Throughout his career, he has garnered widespread acclaim as a venue-filling DJ, music producer, broadcaster, and leading figure in A&R, as well as being one of the most recognizable voices on BBC Radio 1's dance music programming.
The high-energy session included some of the great house classics, while passengers kept the island's festive atmosphere going even after the ship had left.
“Ibiza has been a huge part of my life and career, so having the opportunity to perform on the Arvia while it was docked on the island was incredible. The P&O Cruises passengers were fantastic, and there was a special energy in the SkyDome. It’s not every day you get the chance to bring an Ibiza-style set to a cruise ship, but the crowd was fully engaged from the first song to the last,” added Pete Tong.
Throughout his more than 30-year career, Pete Tong has helped propel dance music to a global level, constantly pushing its boundaries and supporting emerging talent. His contribution was officially recognized in 2021 with the prestigious Music Industry Trusts Award (MITS), which honors his outstanding contribution to music and broadcasting.
With critically acclaimed albums, including his debut Classic House, which reached number one in the UK in 2017, and collaborations with artists such as Ultra Naté and Tale of Us, Pete Tong continues to explore new frontiers of electronic music while keeping his rich legacy alive.

The Arvia's spectacular SkyDome, a unique poolside space enclosed in glass, transforms into a vibrant nighttime entertainment hub. The venue has previously hosted high-energy live performances from Arvia's godmother, Nicole Scherzinger, and Gary Barlow of Take That.
The event was part of the Arvia's 14-night round-trip itinerary in the Western Mediterranean, which departed from Southampton on September 13 and stopped in A Coruña, Malaga, Alicante, Ibiza, Marseille, Barcelona and Cadiz, with an overnight departure from Ibiza.
P&O Cruises' cruises include accommodation, full board, swimming pools and entertainment, with theatrical shows and live band performances, plus free kids' clubs.
