Silversea has launched its Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2026, a 50-day voyage aboard the Silver Spirit connecting Lisbon with Athens (Piraeus). Running until November 7, the journey will visit 40 destinations in 12 countries and 48 UNESCO World Heritage sites, combining iconic ports of call such as Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Casablanca, and Barcelona with less frequented destinations like Volos, Gythion, Kotor, and Amalfi. The itinerary includes overnight stays in Málaga, Livorno, and Istanbul, allowing guests more time ashore in three of the region's most historic ports.

FROM LISBON TO ATHENS: A JOURNEY THROUGH THE MEDITERRANEAN
Guests embarking on this Grand Voyage aboard the Silver Spirit will discover some of the Mediterranean's most distinctive cultures and coastlines in a single trip. The itinerary explores the region's diversity: from Portugal's Atlantic coast and Morocco's Maghreb coastline, through France, Italy, and Croatia's Dalmatian coast, to Greece and the Turkish Bosphorus, with immersive experiences at each port of call.
- FROM LISBON TO BARCELONA: The journey begins along the Atlantic and Iberian coasts—Lisbon, Casablanca, and Tangier, Morocco—before crossing the Strait of Gibraltar to Cádiz and spending an overnight stay in Málaga, before continuing on to Valencia and Barcelona. Along the way, guests can participate in a tapas-making class and a sherry tasting inside a 19th-century mansion in Jerez, or share a five-course home-cooked meal, complete with churros and olive oil tastings, at a family home in the Málaga countryside.
- FROM BARCELONA TO CIVITAVECCHIA (ROME): From Barcelona, the ship sails along the western Mediterranean and the French Riviera, stopping in Palamós and Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Sète and Marseille, France; and Monte Carlo, Monaco, before an overnight stay in Livorno and a stop in Porto Santo Stefano, ending in Civitavecchia (Rome). During the voyage, guests can sail across the Thau Lagoon to its oyster and mussel farms to participate in a hands-on cooking class in Sète, or visit the Antinori family's "Le Mortelle" estate in Porto Santo Stefano, whose winemaking tradition dates back to 1385.
- FROM CIVITAVECCHIA (ROME) TO FUSINA (VENICE): The journey continues south along the Italian coast, passing through Naples and Amalfi, and reaching Giardini Naxos (Taormina) in Sicily and Valletta in Malta, before crossing the Adriatic Sea to Kotor in Montenegro, then Split, Zadar, and Rovinj in Croatia, finally arriving in Fusina (Venice). Along this leg, guests can visit the Marisa Cuomo winery in Amalfi, whose cellar is hand-carved into the cliffs above Furore, or participate in a SALT experience on the slopes of Mount Etna in Taormina, alongside wine judge and winemaker Benjamin Spencer.
- FROM FUSINA (VENICE) TO ATHENS (PIRAEUS): From Venice, the ship sails the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, stopping in Koper, Slovenia; Rijeka and Dubrovnik, Croatia; and Bari, Italy, before arriving in Corfu, Katakolon (Olympia), Gythion, and Souda Bay (Crete), Greece, and finally arriving in Athens (Piraeus). Guests can explore Predjama Castle, built inside a cave system in a cliff, followed by a Michelin Green-starred lunch in Koper, or participate in a traditional peka-style banquet at a family estate in the rural setting of Konavle, near Dubrovnik.
- FROM ATHENS (PIRAEUS) TO ATHENS (PIRAEUS): The final leg of the journey takes you through the Aegean Sea, with stops in Mykonos, Volos, and Thessaloniki, Greece, before an overnight stay in Istanbul, Turkey, and stops in Rhodes and Santorini, Greece, before finally returning to Athens. Guests can participate in a private tasting of volcanic Assyrtiko wine at Anhydrous Winery in Oia, Santorini, or enjoy exceptional access to two monasteries perched atop the cliffs of Meteora, near Volos, which are still home to a small community of monks.
TWO EXCLUSIVE EVENTS IN FLORENCE AND ISTANBUL
Silversea's Grand Voyages also offer privileged access to culture through a selection of events designed specifically for their guests. Those included during the Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2026 are:
- A Journey to the Renaissance (from Livorno to Florence, Italy): Guests will embark on a two-day overland tour beginning in Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli, with lunch overlooking Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo, a private visit to the Uffizi Gallery after regular hours, and dinner at the St. Regis. The second day continues with a guided walking tour of Florence, an afternoon reserved exclusively for guests at Palazzo Pucci, and a private evening visit to the Accademia Gallery to view Michelangelo's David without the usual crowds.
- An evening at the Şerefiye Cistern (Istanbul, Turkey): Guests will gather inside the Şerefiye Cistern, built in the 5th century under Emperor Theodosius II. Its marble columns and vaulted ceilings have been preserved for over 1,600 years. There, they will enjoy an exclusive evening of music and fine dining.
DISCOVERY ABOARD THE SILVER SPIRIT
Prior to this Grand Voyage, Silversea unveiled new public spaces, refreshed interiors, and new dining concepts aboard the Silver Spirit, including Silversea's SALT (Sea And Land Taste) program, featuring SALT Kitchen, SALT Bar, and SALT Lab. SALT Kitchen's menu, inspired by each destination, pairs regional specialties with an extensive selection of local wines, while SALT Bar offers cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits linked to each destination, crafted by expert mixologists. SALT Lab takes the restaurant's culinary program to an experimental kitchen, where guests can participate in hands-on cooking classes based on local techniques and traditions.
The ship's most striking addition is Riviera, a new open-air poolside concept inspired by the golden age of Mediterranean travel. Riviera combines coastal cuisine and fresh seafood with Mediterranean wines and handcrafted cocktails in a space whose design pays homage to the region the ship will explore.
Silversea has confirmed new Grand Voyages through 2028, including the Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2027, aboard the Silver Dawn; the Grand Voyage Asia 2028, aboard the Silver Muse; and the Grand Voyage South America 2028, aboard the Silver Ray.
