Uniworld presents its new offerings for 2028 with three new Super Ships, eight itineraries and a new Mystery Journey

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has unveiled its 2028 program, which includes three new Super Ships, eight itineraries and a new Mystery Journey offering that will take the surprise travel concept beyond the rivers.

Uniworld presents its new offerings for 2028 with three new Super Ships, eight itineraries and a new Mystery JourneyThe new additions will allow passengers to discover less-explored destinations along the Danube and Rhine, take longer voyages that traverse multiple rivers and countries, and discover new ways to experience Germany and France during the holiday season. With these additions, Uniworld's fleet will reach 22 ships.

“2028 is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting year for Uniworld. We’re offering our guests the chance to see more, travel farther, and discover some of our favorite destinations in entirely new ways. This could mean traveling from Amsterdam to the Black Sea, discovering the traditions and flavors of France during the holiday season, or exploring the Mekong River aboard our newest ship. And for guests who enjoyed our Mystery Cruise, this time we’re doing something a little different with our new Mystery Journey, because sometimes the best part of traveling is not knowing exactly what’s coming next,” says Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises.

Three new ships by 2028

Uniworld will add three new ships to its fleet in 2028: SS Helen, SS Clara and Mekong Mystique.

The SS Helen will sail the Danube, while the SS Clara will join the fleet operating on the Rhine. Meanwhile, the Mekong Mystique will allow Uniworld to expand its presence on the Mekong.

The names of the two new European ships pay homage to historical figures. The SS Helen takes its name from Helen of Troy, while the SS Clara is named after the Flemish Golden Age painter Clara Peeters. Both ships will be inspired by the history, culture, and landscapes of the regions they will sail.

Eight new routes in Europe and Asia

The 2028 program incorporates eight new itineraries that expand Uniworld's travel possibilities:

– Amsterdam to the Black Sea – 30 days | SS Helen or SS Clara. This extensive voyage will connect Amsterdam with Bucharest via the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers, passing through nine countries. The itinerary will link three of Uniworld's most comprehensive European offerings and follow the historic route made possible by the opening of the Main-Danube Canal in 1992.

– Exploring Eastern Europe – 25 days | SS Helen or SS Clara. A journey from Prague to Bucharest through nine countries, with several overnight stays and experiences focused on the gastronomy, wine, art and culture of the region.

– Eastern and Western Danube – 18 days | SS Helen or SS Clara. The route will connect Vienna and Bucharest, crossing seven countries and combining the grandeur of Central European capitals with less explored destinations along the Lower Danube.

– Grand France Holiday – 15 days | SS Catherine and SS Joie de Vivre. This festive journey combines the Rhône and Seine rivers to connect Provence with Paris. A high-speed train transfer links both rivers, while the itinerary offers an in-depth exploration of French Christmas traditions.

– Empires of the Lower Danube – 9 days | SS Helen or SS Clara. Between Belgrade and Bucharest, this itinerary allows you to discover Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania through Roman, Habsburg, and Ottoman history. The tour includes the Iron Gates, the Danube Delta, medieval fortresses, and emerging wine regions.

– Dutch and Flemish Treasures – 8 days | SS Clara. A journey through the Netherlands and Belgium to discover their maritime and cultural heritage, with visits to the canals of Amsterdam, a traditional sailing trip on the Zuiderzee, the windmills of Kinderdijk and the art and gastronomic scene of Antwerp.

– Rhone Winter Holiday – 8 days | SS Catherine. A festive cruise between Arles and Lyon that will allow you to delve into French Christmas traditions, with Christmas markets in Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Valence and Lyon, as well as seasonal experiences in Grignan and Provence.

– Moselle Christmas Markets – 8 days | SS Clara. The journey between Düsseldorf and Trier will take passengers through the Moselle's Christmas markets and medieval villages, including Cochem, Bernkastel, and Koblenz, with a focus on regional wine and festive traditions.

A new Mystery Journey

Uniworld will give its Mystery Cruise concept, a passenger favorite, a new twist in 2028 with the launch of a new Mystery Journey. The 11-day experience, which begins on June 15, will take the element of surprise beyond the river.

Passengers will receive only two clues before the journey begins: they will arrive via Luxembourg Airport and arrive at Zurich Airport. Everything that happens between these two points, including the destinations and itinerary, will remain secret until departure.

Uniworld presents its new offerings for 2028 with three new Super Ships, eight itineraries and a new Mystery JourneyWith these new proposals, Uniworld expands its offering for 2028 with longer trips, new destinations and experiences designed to discover Europe and Asia from a different perspective, while continuing to expand its fleet of Super Ships.
