For travelers who want to explore the Danube on two wheels, Riverside Luxury Cruises presents three Riverside Active cycling cruises aboard the Riverside Mozart in 2027. Passengers will be able to travel up to 652 km of the Danube Cycle Route while enjoying the comforts of a luxury river cruise.
The first, a seven-night cruise from Passau to Vienna, from July 22 to 29, will be followed by a seven-night cruise from Vienna to Budapest, from July 29 to August 5. Travelers can book either cruise or combine them for a 14-night trip from Passau to Budapest, from July 22 to August 5, with up to 652 km of cycling along the Danube Cycle Path.
Each day offers a different section of the Danube Cycle Route, with routes ranging from 29 to 100 km. Cyclists can use an e-bike from the Riverside Mozart's fleet or bring their own, as the ship has storage space for them. All tours are supported by an expert cycling guide and a support vehicle.
The routes are as varied as the river itself. Cyclists follow the Danube through the Wachau Valley, tackle the Schlögen Loop, a spectacular 180-degree turn in the river, and ride the Danube Bend towards Visegrád, enjoying vineyards, villages, and historical sites along the way. In the Wachau, for example, cyclists can cycle the stretch between Melk and Dürnstein, while at other ports they can choose between exploring the destination by bike or joining a Riverside Choice tour.
At the end of each tour, the Riverside Mozart awaits passengers. There's no need to repack or search for a hotel: just a spacious suite, gourmet cuisine, and Riverside's attentive service at the end of each day.
The flexibility of the experience is intentional and reflects one of Riverside's core values. The number of miles passengers ride each day is entirely up to them, and taking a day off from cycling is easy: the Riverside Mozart continues to the next port, where passengers can choose from the Riverside Choice excursions. If a cyclist starts a route and decides not to continue, the support vehicle can transport the passenger and their bicycle to the next port.
This flexibility also makes the experience suitable for couples or friends with different ideas about what an active vacation should be. One passenger can spend the day cycling through the Wachau Valley while their companion explores a destination, participates in an excursion, or simply enjoys the boat. Afterward, they both meet for dinner and continue their journey together.
The Riverside Mozart also offers cyclists numerous options for enjoying the hours between rides. Its 120-square-meter (1,600-square-foot) spa features a lap pool, jacuzzi, saunas and steam rooms, two treatment rooms, and a tranquil relaxation area. The 743-square-foot (69-square-meter) fitness center includes treadmills, rowing machines, and stationary bikes, as well as Technogym equipment, free weights, and space for stretching and yoga.
The ship's flexible approach also extends to dining. Passengers can communicate their food allergies, dietary preferences, and avoidances before the voyage, and this information will be available to the catering team throughout the cruise. Allergens are identified on menus and in the buffet offerings, while vegetarian and vegan options are clearly marked.
The full 14-night itinerary also includes an after-hours VIP experience at Vienna's Belvedere Palace, with a private musical performance and the opportunity to view The Kisswithout the usual crowds.
