Royal Caribbean will raise funds for the "Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children Charity" on the Legend of the SeasCoinciding with National Paediatric Nurses Day, celebrated on June 30th in the UK, the collaboration aims to raise awareness of the specialists at the Roald Dahl Nurses organization, who provide expert care and practical support to thousands of children with chronic and complex illnesses. Onboard donations and fundraising activities throughout Legend will help support this network of over 250 specialist nurses from the charity, who work alongside the NHS, the UK's National Health Service, providing coordinated care along with emotional and financial support to families.

“As a brand focused on creating memorable vacations for families, it is especially meaningful to partner with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity to support families in need,” said Gerard Nolan, Vice President and Managing Director EMEA at Royal Caribbean. “With Roald Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ headlined on Legend of the Seas, partnering with the charity seemed like a natural choice for the launch of the new family vacation in Europe. Roald Dahl Nurses provides extraordinary care to families every day, and we are proud to support their work through fundraising initiatives and by welcoming members of their nursing community for a well-deserved break.”

As the first step in launching the collaboration, Royal Caribbean will host the Roald Dahl Nurses on a special 4-night introductory cruise aboard the Legend before the ship's official debut on July 4. The nurses will have the opportunity to experience the family vacation of a lifetime and enjoy the ship's unparalleled entertainment, dining, and relaxation offerings, while taking a well-deserved break from their demanding daily work.

“Our Roald Dahl Nurses make a profound difference in the lives of children with complex and chronic health conditions, as well as in the lives of their families and communities,” said Louise Griew, executive director of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. “We are thrilled to partner with Royal Caribbean as Legend of the Seas embarks on its European voyage. This collaboration will help raise vital funds to support more families, while also highlighting the incredible dedication and expertise of our nurses.”
