Aurora Expeditions opens bookings for its 2026-27 Antarctic expeditions

Aurora Expeditions ' Antarctic expeditions for the 2026/27 season are now open for bookings.

Aurora Expeditions opens bookings for its 2026-27 Antarctic expeditionsDuring the 2025/26 campaign, the company operated 30 expedition trips and made approximately 819 landings in Antarctic territory.

Aurora's expedition model is based on small-group exploration, supported by a ratio of one expedition guide for every seven passengers, along with one of the most comprehensive activity programs in Antarctica. Travelers can participate in experiences such as Zodiac sailing, land landings, kayaking, snorkeling, skiing, camping, photography, diving, and other exploration activities.

In addition, Aurora Expeditions has recorded solid growth in the North American market during its 2025/26 Antarctic season, with a 37% increase in bookings from the United States compared to the previous year.

In comparison, the overall North American market for travel to Antarctica grew by 11.5% during the same period, according to the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) 2025-2026 Visitation Report.

This result highlights the growing importance of North America to Aurora Expeditions' global business, as travelers from this region accounted for one in three of the company's expedition passengers during the last season.

David Tanguay, global sales director of Aurora Expeditions, noted that these results reflect both the company's continued investment in North America and the strength of its business partnerships throughout the region.

“North America remains a key market for Aurora Expeditions and we are very grateful for the continued support of our valued business partners,” said Tanguay.

“This growth is very encouraging and reflects the increasing interest we see among travelers in expert-led, small-ship Antarctic expeditions. More than ever, travelers are seeking authentic experiences, more time off the ship, and a deeper connection with the places they visit—something that has always been part of Aurora’s DNA.”

The strong performance of the North American market coincides with Aurora Expeditions' biggest Antarctic season ever.

“As we continue to grow in North America, our goal remains to provide our business partners with the product knowledge, tools, and expertise needed to respond to this growing demand,” Tanguay added.
