The Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany has officially delivered Disney Adventure to Disney Cruise Line, bringing the ship one step closer to its highly anticipated maiden voyage. The delivery, which took place on December 16, 2025, makes Disney Adventure the largest ship in the Disney fleet, with a gross tonnage of 208,000 and a capacity for 6,700 passengers.
In addition to being the largest ship in the fleet, Disney Adventure represents Disney Cruise Line's entry into the Asian market. Designed for the region's clientele, the ship will operate three- and four-night nonstop cruises, departing from and returning to Singapore.
Under an agreement with the Singapore Tourism Board, Disney Adventure will sail from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre for at least the next five years.
However, although delivery is complete, the maiden voyage is still a few months away. The ship will undertake two preview cruises on March 5 and 9, 2026, followed by the official maiden voyage, which will depart on March 10, 2026.
These dates differ significantly from the cruise line's original schedule. Disney Adventure was initially slated to enter service in December 2025, but in September of that year, Disney announced a major construction delay that pushed its debut back to March 2026, and all reservations were automatically transferred to the new March 2026 dates.
Construction of the Disney Adventure began in 2018, when Dream Cruises placed the order for the ship, which was then called Global Dream. The hull was approximately 70% complete when the parent company, Genting Hong Kong, filed for bankruptcy in 2022.
That same year, Disney Cruise Line acquired the partially built ship from the liquidators of Genting, renamed it Disney Adventure , and commissioned Meyer Werft to complete its construction.
While Disney Adventure will feature many of Disney Cruise Line's most popular attractions, it will also be specially tailored to the Asian market with exclusive dining options, such as Mike & Sulley's – Flavors of Asia. This venue will offer four distinct experiences: a full-service Japanese steakhouse, a teppanyaki restaurant, an outdoor sushi and sashimi area, and an omakase-style restaurant. Other dining options will include Taverna Portorosso, specializing in Italian cuisine, the upscale Palo Trattoria, and Cosmic Kebabs, among others.
