Orient Express's first sailing ship, the Orient Express Corinthian, successfully completed its first sea trials over the weekend, Orient Express Sailing Yachts.
It has been almost 18 months since construction began on the new vessel at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The ship is now in its final stages and is scheduled to debut in June 2026.
“The sailing ship now sets sail with the promise of what is to come: a fusion of maritime excellence, craftsmanship and the pioneering spirit that drives Orient Express Sailing Yachts into the future,” the company said.
The Orient Express Corinthian is the first sailing yacht equipped with the revolutionary SolidSail propulsion system, complemented by a hybrid system powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), all with the aim of achieving near-zero emissions cruising. The innovative yacht will offer a range of voyages from two-night getaways to 14-night journeys.
