The countdown to the launch of MSC Cruises' new flagship, MSC World Asia, has begun. This new ship, which will become the 24th in the fleet, will be the next World Class vessel to join the company, inviting passengers to experience the art of cruising from Barcelona starting in December 2026.
MSC Cruises today organized an event at its Barcelona Terminal where the countdown to the launch of the company's new ship officially began with a clock that will show, throughout the year, the days, hours and minutes remaining until MSC World Asia sails for the first time from Barcelona on December 4, 2026.

MSC World Asia is the third ship in MSC Cruises' World Class fleet, paying homage to the rich culture, art, and breathtaking landscapes of Asia through subtle design elements, all while sailing the heart of the Mediterranean. This new vessel will boast a length of 333 meters, 22 decks, and 38,400 square meters of public space. Within this space, there will be more than 40 bars, lounges, and restaurants – including a new specialty pan-Asian restaurant; more than 20 cabin types, including the stunning MSC Yacht Club Royal Duplex suites; and options designed with families in mind.
The most striking feature of this new ship is a 12-meter-long and 9-meter-wide dragon sculpture located on the iconic World Promenade. Suspended 10 meters high, it will be illuminated at night—a feature unique to this ship.
