Hapag-Lloyd Cruises presents a new fare model

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will introduce a streamlined fare model for all new bookings starting December 2, 2025. Two clearly defined fares will replace the previous three-tier model: PLATINUM and SILVER. This evolution represents a strategic step towards simplifying pricing, responding to guests' desire for greater flexibility and clarity in planning their individual trips.

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises presents a new fare modelThe optimization makes the fare model for the luxury and expedition fleet simpler and more transparent; two clearly defined fares offer greater clarity in the inquiry and booking process. The new model applies to all bookings made from December 2, 2025. Clas Eckholt, Vice President of Commercial at TUI Cruises, stated: “With the new pricing structure, we want to make travel decisions clearer and simpler for our guests going forward. The reduction to two fares and the expanded flexibility options in the PLATINUM fare give our guests more leeway in their individual planning, while the SILVER fare continues to offer a reliable set of services.” For existing bookings, the previous conditions remain unchanged.

With the revised PLATINUM Fare, guests will benefit from a one-time complimentary rescheduling of their travel date up to 90 days prior to departure. In addition, trip cancellation will be possible up to 180 days prior to departure for a small administrative fee. For cruises of 22 days or more and for higher suite categories, slightly adjusted rescheduling and cancellation policies will offer added peace of mind when planning. Thus, the PLATINUM Fare offers significantly greater flexibility, especially for guests who want to secure their plans in advance but still retain the option to adjust them if needed. Existing PLATINUM Fare benefits continue to include free choice of cabin/suite and deck, as well as the option to book shore excursions as soon as they are released.

The SILVER fare retains its full range of services and can be booked—as before—subject to availability. The cabin or suite and deck are assigned by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises at the start of the trip; shore excursions can be booked 14 days after their release.

Another update affects the beverage offering: Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will expand the already extensive range of services included in the onboard cruise fare. For all sailings from January 3, 2026, onward, a selection of soft drinks will be available to all guests throughout the day at no extra charge. In addition, the comprehensive services included in both fares continue to include welcome champagne, a daily restocked minibar, 24-hour room and suite service, and full board with gourmet cuisine. Depending on the itinerary, included experiences such as Zodiac excursions further enhance the voyage.
