Abercrombie & Kent (A&K), together with its riverside division A&K Sanctuary, announces a significant step forward in its expansion strategy in Egypt with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art floating hotel, developed by Arab Contractors. This project reinforces the company's long-standing presence on the Nile as the company unveils the Nile Seray, which will debut in 2026.
The new ship—currently named Interbuild 2—will be built by Arab Contractors following the signing of an agreement between engineer Ahmed El Assar, president of the company, and Manfredi de Ovidio, president of Abercrombie & Kent. The vessel will feature 32 suites and a capacity for 64 guests, sailing between Luxor and Aswan and offering an intimate and exclusive experience. Measuring 72 meters in length, 14.40 meters in beam, and 11.5 meters in height, the project encompasses the construction of the main hull, superstructures, and all metal components over a period of 18 months. The work will be carried out under the supervision of Lloyd's Register and will comply with the standards of the Egyptian River Transport Authority. This new ship represents a significant step in A&K's expansion, responding to the growing demand for high-end experiences on the Nile and reinforcing the company's commitment to elevating the quality of river tourism in the country.
Simultaneously, A&K Sanctuary unveils Nile Seray, the company's fifth luxury ship in Egypt and its most sophisticated to date. Designed to accommodate up to 64 guests in 32 suites, it boasts generous spaces, with suites starting at 33 square meters, panoramic windows, Juliet balconies, and two master suites featuring private balconies complete with outdoor spas. The ship's contemporary design blends modern elegance with palatial aesthetics, creating an exclusive ambiance that extends throughout the vessel. Amenities include two restaurants helmed by top chefs, a spa, a fully equipped gym, and a spacious upper deck with a swimming pool, Balinese beds, and an outdoor lounge offering sweeping views of the Nile Valley.
Nile Seray will also offer one of the most comprehensive and exclusive cultural programs in the country, including as standard access to the most coveted tombs on Luxor's West Bank, such as those of Nefertari, Seti I, Ramses VI, and Tutankhamun—sites not typically included in standard tours. These privileged visits, along with the sailing between Aswan and Luxor, will allow travelers to fully immerse themselves in the grandeur of Ancient Egypt. The itinerary will incorporate stays at iconic temples, experiences such as traditional felucca sailing, cooking classes, cultural performances, and the opportunity to admire the landscape from a hot air balloon. All excursions will be led by expert Egyptologists who will enrich the experience with their in-depth knowledge of Egyptian history and culture.
