The Port of the Bay of Cadiz received 96,137 cruise passengers in October of this year, which is the record for visitors in a single month of 2025 so far.
In the first ten months of the year, a total of 526,202 cruise passengers were recorded, 6.8 percent less than in the same period of 2024, which is explained by the smaller size of the ships that arrived.
Regarding the number of stops, 48 were recorded in October, ten more than the previous month and one more than in October 2024. In the accumulated total for the year, 275 stops have been reached, 17 more than in the same period of 2024, which represents an increase of 6.2 percent compared to the previous year.
As is well known, the economic impact of cruise ships is particularly significant in the surrounding area. According to the latest study carried out by the Regional Government of Andalusia (2017) on cruise tourism in the region, the average expenditure per cruise passenger per day in port of call is €40.6, meaning that the impact of this activity in the first ten months of the year would exceed €21 million, to which the expenditure of the crew members would also have to be added.
