The TUI AG Executive Board has assigned the two newly built ships for Marella Cruises to TUI Cruises, a move designed to strengthen its long-term growth platform in Europe and the UK. TUI Cruises will take over the ships previously ordered for Marella Cruises from Fincantieri, Italy, with deliveries scheduled for 2031 and 2033. This strategic decision allows TUI to build on the success of its joint venture, TUI Cruises, which has a proven track record in several European markets and the necessary financial capacity for future expansion investments.
The newly built ships at Fincantieri were originally announced by TUI on March 31, 2025. Under the new agreement, Marella has released these ships to TUI Cruises. Subsequently, TUI Cruises has signed new shipbuilding contracts with Fincantieri for larger vessels that better suit its fleet requirements. Marella's advance payment to Fincantieri will be refunded.
Marella Cruises will continue its successful operations with its existing fleet. Current cooperation with TUI UK tour operator and TUI Airline will remain unchanged.
