Disney Cruise Line 's newest ship , the Disney Adventure, has been delayed from its 2025 holiday debut date. This voyage was originally scheduled to set sail on December 15, 2025, followed by a season of 3- to 4-night cruises from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre for at least five years, as part of a collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board.
Bookings opened on December 10th of last year, and the maiden voyage has been largely sold out since then. Singapore's strategic location makes it a booming cruise hub in Southeast Asia, so the Adventure to achieve long-term success as a destination ship.
Disney Cruise Line has made the difficult decision to delay the maiden voyage of the Disney Adventure by approximately three months, which will affect about two dozen sailings. The new inaugural sailing date will be March 10, 2026. To accommodate this change, all cruises scheduled through March 12, 2026, will be canceled. This is due to construction challenges and unforeseen delays in the shipbuilding process, according to the Vice President of Disney Signature Services.
Guests who had booked the original inaugural voyage will be automatically rebooked on the new March 10, 2026, itinerary at a 50% discount. If they are unable to travel on that date, Disney Cruise Line will offer a 50% credit toward a future cruise, valid across the fleet for sailings departing through March 31, 2027, provided the cruise is booked by March 31, 2026, with the option of a credit for funds already paid or a full refund.
Guests with reservations on the other two dozen sailings between December 18, 2025, and March 12, 2026, will automatically receive a refund to their original payment method. In addition, they will be offered the same 50% credit toward a future cruise, subject to the same terms and conditions.
In announcing the delay, Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences, commented: “As we work on the final details to present Disney Adventure to our guests, we have encountered unexpected delays in the construction process. To ensure the experience reflects our commitment to excellence, we have decided to adjust our timeline. We know this may be disappointing for our guests, and we are working directly with them to offer flexible rescheduling options and maintain the trust they place in us.”
The Disney Adventure departed from Wismar, Germany earlier this month after more than 7 years in construction—much of that time under another brand before Disney Cruise Line acquired the unfinished ship.
With over 1,400 workers on board, the Adventure is currently undergoing sea trials in the Baltic and North Seas, key processes to ensure all systems are functioning correctly before its official delivery to Disney. The exterior work is virtually complete, and the focus is now on the interiors and systems testing.
It should be noted that Disney's new Wish is not affected: the Disney Destiny is still scheduled to set sail on its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025.
The Disney Adventure is unlike any other ship in the fleet and features seven unique themed areas: Disney Imagination Garden, Toy Story Place, San Fransokyo Street, Town Square, Wayfinder Bay, Disney Discovery Reef, and Marvel Landing.
