Carnival Cruise Line welcomed two of its ships simultaneously to Celebration Key, its new exclusive destination in Grand Bahama, which officially opened on July 19. More than 7,000 passengers from the Carnival Glory and Carnival Conquest enjoyed the ultimate beach day together.
Celebration Key spans over 60 acres and includes 1.5 miles of pristine beach, plus five distinct zones that allow Carnival guests to make the most of their visit to paradise. The destination boasts the largest freshwater lagoons in the Caribbean, the largest private beach club at a cruise port, the world's largest swim-up bar, a swing bar, more than 30 restaurants and bars, and a nearly endless array of activities, from waterslides in its 10-story solar castle to a wide selection of cabanas and Balinese beds.
“Celebration Key is already elevating our guests’ experience since we opened just a few days ago. Docking two ships at once gives more passengers the opportunity to enjoy this exceptional experience, with more than enough space to relax and discover all that this beautiful destination has to offer,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
With a $600 million investment, Celebration Key represents Carnival's largest investment in a single destination to date and reflects the company's commitment to enhancing the guest experience in The Bahamas. Part of that investment includes a $100 million pier expansion, which will allow up to four ships to dock simultaneously by the summer of 2026. The destination is projected to receive two million visitors annually, reaching four million by 2028.
This Friday, Celebration Key will once again offer large-scale fun when the Mardi Gras, Carnival's first Excel-class ship, docks alongside the Carnival Pride, which sails from Baltimore. Currently, 20 ships from 10 U.S. homeports include Celebration Key in their itineraries.
