Oceania Cruises has announced four new voyages to view the total solar eclipse of August 12, 2026, bringing its total to five exceptional itineraries. With this addition, it becomes the cruise line with the most cruises specifically designed to enjoy this unprecedented astronomical phenomenon.
The itineraries will position travelers at prime locations off the coasts of Ireland, Iceland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, coinciding with the path of the eclipse. The routes have been carefully planned to guarantee the best viewing conditions at sea, far from the light pollution of cities. The Oceania Marina will sail directly through the path of 100% totality, while the Oceania Insignia, Oceania Sirena, and two Oceania Vista voyages will sail through areas with more than 90% solar coverage.
In addition to witnessing this unique natural spectacle, guests will enjoy a comprehensive enrichment program on board, featuring renowned astronomers and NASA ambassadors. Lectures, themed activities, and guided observations will allow guests to delve deeper into the scientific and cultural significance of solar eclipses.
“There is no better way to experience a total solar eclipse than from one of our ships, in a comfortable, exclusive, and distraction-free environment,” says Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises. “With four strategically positioned ships, we offer an unparalleled experience that combines luxury, knowledge, and the wonder of nature, all accompanied by the finest cuisine at sea.”
During the eclipse, the celebration moves to the decks with themed parties, entertainment, and a special culinary offering: eclipse-shaped cookies, crescent-shaped shrimp empanadas with chimichurri sauce, passion fruit macarons, star bites, and much more.
The itineraries will position travelers in prime locations off the coasts of Ireland, Iceland, Portugal and the United Kingdom, coinciding with the path of the eclipse.
