This season, Viking will continue to expand its destination-focused offerings with the addition of seven new ships, which accommodate 190 passengers or fewer and are specifically designed for European rivers. Viking will also sail three new itineraries this year, in addition to its popular voyages. The company expects to take delivery of 25 additional river ships by 2028 and nine additional ocean-going ships by 2030. With these orders, Viking will have 109 river ships in 2028 and 21 ocean-going and expedition ships by 2030.
From March through December, Viking will introduce three new itineraries on the Rhine, Main, and Seine rivers, giving guests the opportunity to explore more of Europe Viking-style. In addition, it will continue to offer its popular European river cruises.

Viking has also announced that in 2026 it will expand its Viking Longships fleet with four additional ships and new pre- and post-cruise extensions . These guided three- or four-night experiences will include privileged access to museums, local culinary experiences, vineyard visits, cooking classes, and scenic train journeys.
